Product details

MCP19124 PWM controller with 8-bit MCU

The Microchip MCP19124 is an analogue-based PWM controller with an integrated 8-bit PIC® microcontroller. The combination analogue and digital solutions within a single device results in a product that maximizes the strengths of each technology to create a configurable, high-performance and more cost-effective power conversion solution. The MCP19124 contains two independent and configurable outer control loops which take advantage of a faster, inner current loop for peak current-mode control with fast transient response. This unique architecture allows smooth and monotonic switching between constant-voltage and constant-current operation which can be accomplished dynamically during operation.

• Smooth, dynamic transitions between CC and CV operating modes
• Dynamically adjustable output current and output voltage
• Wide operating voltage range: 4.5-42V
• Analog peak-current mode PWM control
• Fixed-frequency or quasi-resonant operation, adjustable 31 kHz to 2 MHz
• Supports Boost, SEPIC, Flyback, and Cuk topologies
• Minimal external component count
• Integrated 8-Bit PIC® MCU allows significant configurability
• I2C communication interface
• 9 GPIO lines
• Custom algorithm support
