TE Connectivity Mil Spec AD-1377 Hand Crimping Tool for MiniSeal Splices

The Importance of a High-Quality Crimp

When a crimping tool is used on a terminal, two crimps take place at the same time. One is the electrical connection between conductor and terminal. The other is the insulation crimp which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important that the electrical connection is gas tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. If there any voids present, then corrosion can occur causing resistance and excessive heat which damages the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool will ensure that a full, gas tight crimp is produced preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage

TE Connectivity MiniSeal Handing Crimping Tool - Overview

From TE Connectivity, an easy to use hand operated crimping tool made from high-quality materials which meets Mil Spec MIL-DTL-22520/37-01 for crimping MiniSeal crimp splices. The crimping tool consists of handles and two crimping jaws. The crimping jaws contain three crimping chambers with clearly marked wire sizes. A locator helps position the terminal accurately during the crimping process. The crimping tool is supplied with a pre-set crimp depth to ensure that the correct combination of tensile strength and insulation integrity is achieved when crimping. A ratchet controlled release mechanism ensures that the handles of the crimp tool do not release until a full crimp cycle is achieved.

Key Features and Benefits

• Easy to use with a smooth operation
• Meets Mil Spec MIL-DTL-22520/37-01 standard
• Pre-set crimp depth ensures crimp integrity
• Ratchet controlled release mechanism ensures full crimp cycle
• Locator for accurate contact positioning
• Crimping cavities are polished for maximum crimping reliability
• Ergonomic design for operator comfort
