IK8715 / 003 — Load-Shedding Relay
Reduces the cable cross-sections required for large electrical consumers
17.5 mm overall width
The IK8715 load-shedding relay is used in installation facilities where the cable cross sections are too low to enable two large electrical consumers to be operated together. This is often the case in domestic installations, where, for example, a through-flow heater for hot water is to be installed alongside the electric storage heaters. Employing the IK8715 means that the electrical connection does not need to be dimensioned for the simultaneous operation of both large consumers. Furthermore, the connection fee calculated according to the maximum amount of power available (German federal tariff regulation [BTO] §P6 section 4) can be reduced. If the device working for a short period (e.g. the through-flow heater) is switched on, the load-shedding relay switches off the consumer that operates over a longer period (e.g. the overnight storage heater).
