Product details

Facom Universal Shears - 36 mm opening

Tin snips are a type of hand shear which have been designed to cut various thin but tough material such as metal sheets. They are often used by both professionals and hobbyists. These hand shears look like scissors but they are manufactured from a stronger metal.

Facom 980 multi purpose shears are ideal for everyday cutting applications and can be used on thin sheet steel 0.5 mm thick, aluminium sheet up to 1mm thick and electric cables up to 2.5 mm diameter.

Features and Benefits:

Closed position locking system
2 positions: small hands and large hands
Blade opening - 29 to 36 mm
Dual material grips
Handle opening from 77 to 102 mm

Typical Applications

Shears and nibblers are powerful hand tools perfect for cutting through a range of materials such as metal, wood, plastic, cardboard and more. The three most common types of tin snips available are straight cut, left cut and right cut. The direction does not refer to which hand they are best suited to, but to what side the waste material will be on. For example, straight cut snips allow you to cut through metal in a straight line to the length of the blade, whereas left cut allows you to cut straight or curved with the waste material to the left and right snips to the right.

Common applications include:
• Automotive repair
• DIY
• HVAC repair
• Construction
• Industrial
• Garden
