Discovery Kit for STM32F051R8 Microcontroller
STM32 series link the gap with applications using 8 and 16-bit microcontrollers enabling advanced high-end features in cost-efficient products. The F0 series offers exceptional flexibility and scalability for home entertainment products, appliances and industrial equipment.
The STM32 series embeds a set of peripherals which can be classed in three categories:
The first category is for the peripherals which are by definition common to all products. Those peripherals are identical, so they have the same structure, registers and control bits. There is no need to perform any firmware change to keep the same functionality at the application level after migration. All the features and behaviour remain the same
The second category is for the peripherals which are shared by all products but have only minor differences (in general to support new features), so migration from one product to another is very easy and does not need any significant new development effort
For third category of peripherals, migration will require new development at the application level
STM32 Kit contains:
STM32F051R8T6 microcontroller featuring 64KB Flash, 8KB RAM in an LQFP64 package
On-board ST-LINK/V2 with selection mode switch to use the kit as a standalone ST-LINK/V2 (with SWD connector for programming and debugging)
Board power supply: through USB bus or from an external 5V supply voltage
External application power supply: 3 and 5 Volts
Four LEDs:
LD1 (red) for 3.3V power on
LD2 (red/green) for USB communication
LD3 (green) for PC9 output
LD4 (blue) for PC8 output
Two push buttons (user and reset)
Extension header for all LQFP64 I/Os for quick connection to prototyping board and easy probing
An additional board is provided which can be connected to the extension connector for even easier prototyping and probing.
