Product details

3M™ PTFE Glass Cloth Tape 5453 Brown

Introducing the 3M™ 5453, this PTFE tape uses a Brown woven glass cloth backing offering with PTFE integrated and a silicone adhesive offering high-temperature performance. This tape provides a non-stick, low friction surface for a broad range of surfaces, including metals, plastics and wood. The 3M 5453 quality tape provides shear strength, surface adhesion and abrasive resistance that ensures reliability and high performance. The excellent abrasion resistance makes it ideal for many tough impact wear or sliding applications.

Some of PTFE’s key material characteristics are the fact that it’s both extremely low friction, and is hydrophobic (meaning it repels water). This makes PTFE tape incredibly useful for a wide range of plumbing and pipework jobs and heated equipment and machinery.

Features and Benefits

• Premium glass cloth reinforced backing provides greater tensile strength and resistance to tears and punctures than typical PTFE film backed tapes
• Silicone adhesive offers high-temperature performance and long ageing
• Provides a non-stick, low friction surface on heat sealing and packaging equipment
• Thicker backing helps extend the service life over thinner versions when subjected to abrasion and wear
• Performs under a wide range of temperatures, including up to 500°F/260°C
• Very low moisture absorption allows the tape to perform in many humid environments
• Excellent chemical resistance enables the tape to withstand challenging applications
